Meet Stéphane Jeanrenaud, the FCM Director of Education and Development

A Journey Toward the Nations

It’s amazing to see the Lord at work, using people from different walks of life and from different communities around the world. Stéphane Jeanrenaud is one example. His journey to Four Corners Ministries has taken him across continents, through years of ministry and theological education, and into a career focused on equipping the Church. Looking back, he can see how God has faithfully woven each part of his story together to prepare him for the call to serve unreached and under-equipped people groups.

Stéphane was born in Switzerland and moved with his family to Richmond, Virginia, when he was six years old. He grew up in a Christian home, familiar with the truth that Jesus is the Son of God, but during the summer between sixth and seventh grade, that knowledge became personal.

While attending a Christian conference, the Lord convicted Stéphane, leading to a late-night conversation with his mother about sin, grace, and what it means for Christ to be not only Savior, but Lord of his life.

“I finally understood what it meant, and that summer I really gave my life to Christ, and I’ve walked with Him since,” Stéphane said.

During high school, his desire to serve the Lord continued to grow. Through a ministry called Young Life, he began to feel God calling him to ministry. He knew that his calling would not necessarily be to traditional pastoral ministry, but to serve the Church and advance the gospel in whatever ways God opened.

That calling led him to Grove City College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, followed by a Master of Divinity with a missions focus from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Jackson, Mississippi.

In 2002 Stéphane joined a church, serving as a Singles Coordinator and later as an Assistant Discipleship Coordinator. After five years there, God opened the door for him to return to RTS, this time serving as Director of Admissions at the Charlotte campus. Over the next 18 years, he served RTS as Director of Admissions then as Vice President of Administration, Advancement, and Alumni Relations. He was also involved in helping establish the Christian counseling program.

“Throughout my career there, I thoroughly enjoyed serving the work of the gospel. A highlight was engaging with the students, especially international students, and seeing the impact of our graduates around the world, starting seminaries and serving in hard-to-reach places faithfully handling God’s Word,” Stéphane said. “I was just excited to see the global impact that the seminary had.”

It was also during his years in Mississippi that God wrote another important part of Stéphane’s story. In 2003, he married Kelly Jane, whom he met through church ministry. Kelly Jane had lived in seven different countries and shares a passion for God’s Word and ministry. Together, they have two children, Sophie and Noah.

After nearly two decades at RTS, Stéphane began looking for an opportunity where he could use his experience and resources to serve under-resourced and under-evangelized parts of the world. Then an unexpected connection opened the door to Four Corners Ministries.

A friend shared Stéphane’s résumé with an FCM board member and directed him to the FCM website to learn more about the mission. After reading that FCM exists to communicate and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus to unreached and under-equipped people groups, he knew this was where God was leading him.

In 2026, he came on board, joining the FCM family, as the Director of Education and Development. For Stéphane and Kelly Jane, the decision to join Four Corners came with a deep sense of peace. Through prayer, wise counsel, conversations with the leadership and board, and their time interviewing, they sensed God continually knitting the pieces together.

“It felt like the right place with the right people at the right time,” Stéphane said.

Soon after joining Four Corners, Stéphane traveled to Abaana’s Hope in Uganda. As part of his role in development, he knew he needed to experience the ministry firsthand. His time at Abaana’s Hope has already made a lasting impression. From the people to the ministry programs to the emphasis on discipleship and the gospel, Stéphane and Kelly Jane were in awe of what the Lord has done and is doing.

“Every aspect of Four Corners Ministries at Abaana’s Hope has exceeded my expectations,” he said. “The people are amazing. The gospel saturation in so many different aspects of the ministry is palpable. The desire for growth, for discipleship, for the community to know Jesus and the gospel is inspiring.”

After their first visit this summer, Stéphane and Kelly Jane were encouraged by the people they met and their desire to see communities know Jesus. He described their experience as “life changing.”

Stéphane is working alongside the missionaries and Acholi leaders serving Living Stones Christian School (LSCS) and Living Stones Pastor Training Center (PTC).

After visiting secondary schools in Gulu, he learned that Uganda is implementing competency-based education (CBE), which focuses on helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, collaboration, communication, and the practical application of knowledge. The goal is not to simply know information but to be able to use it effectively in real life situations.

By 2027, primary schools throughout Uganda will begin implementing this model of learning, which includes LSCS.

“This opens the opportunity for LSCS to be at the forefront of what will be the standard curriculum in all Ugandan primary schools. It gives us a chance to plan, train, and prepare for the best transition for our students and this new learning model,” Stéphane said.

Another part of his new role is to serve the PTC and assist with the accreditation process for the three-year certificate training program. He hopes this will expand the opportunities available to the pastor students as they are sent out to make disciples across Africa. Through the Living Stones pastoral network, he hopes to provide support and connect churches and lead trainers, incorporating more churches here to partner with churches there.

This month, he’s currently in Uganda helping the lead trainers and missionary Faron Golden interview potential students for the next cohort of the PTC, which will begin classes in January 2027.

“I’m humbled by this opportunity to serve God’s kingdom with Four Corners and the work at Abaana’s Hope,” Stéphane said. “I pray that God will receive the glory, that the gospel will go forth, and that more pastors, students, and churches will be equipped with the gospel and encouraged to spread the gospel in Uganda and to the four corners of the earth.”
