Serve as a summer intern

Learn and grow this summer

Serving in northern Uganda

We are partnering in 2024 with The Timothy Project, a ministry of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. They are starting a new program called Omega. Omega is a 10-week discipleship experience designed to equip and mobilize college students for the sake of the gospel through intensive training and extended field ministry.  There will be a 3-week training in Mississippi and then 40 days in the field at Abaana’s Hope in Uganda with Four Corners Ministries. The first Omega cohort is scheduled for May 27 through July 29, 2024. The application deadline is November 1, 2023. The $25 application fee will be waived if it is submitted by October 1. The cost for Omega will be $7000.00, but there is a $3000.00 scholarship available per participant, so the final total cost is $4000.00.  Approved participants will receive coaching to help with fundraising. "It is truly impossible to describe what all the Lord taught me through the Acholi people and my time in Uganda. The Holy Spirit revealed Himself and His goodness through these precious people in ways that I am so undeserving to experience. I went to Uganda preparing to serve and do my best to pour into the Acholi people. Leaving, I can confidently say the impact they had on my heart is far greater than the impact I left. They teach you what humility looks like, and they demonstrate what joy undefined by circumstances looks like. They are vulnerable, selfless, honest, and welcoming. They showed me the heart of the Lord. There is something so unexplainably special about sitting in your need for Jesus together as humans, despite the difference in culture or language. There were many days I would walk around overwhelmed with joy and gratitude that the Lord had allowed me to be there. This past summer was healing, life giving, and evidence of God’s grace. This is something that I will cherish and carry with me until the end of my life. "

"Having the opportunity to go to Uganda and serve among the Acholi people was truly an honor and a privilege. I worked primarily with the church and the Pastor Training Center, where I was able to connect with the Acholi people and discuss Scripture, teach, and have the opportunity to discuss gospel clarity and the significance of it. I was able to build lasting relationships with the Acholi people that I will cherish forever. God has given us the privilege to be a part of the Great Commission and proclaim His word among the nations, and me having the opportunity to take advantage of this privilege in Uganda is an experience I will never forget"

"Trying to capture the magnitude of God's work at Abaana’s Hope in only at few sentences feels impossible. The words I would use to describe it just don’t do it justice - the experience was truly life changing. Rather than listing all the reasons why being an intern was the greatest most humbling experience of my life, I encourage you to go, and see for yourself. Be apart of what God is doing around the world."

"My summer in Uganda changed my life! I learned about the importance of discipleship and deep relationships in the way that we reach others. The Acholi women taught me about hard work, hospitality and the grace and sovereignty of the Lord. The life beads women became my best friends and made me laugh till I cried! If you are interested in using your summers for the Lord's glory, consider going with Four Corners. You will fall in love with Abanaa's Hope and the Acholi people!"

"My time in Uganda brought me such joy through the incredible privilege of developing relationships with the missionary families and the Acholi people. During my summer, I was able to work with the CDP staff, getting the chance to love and serve the various families. God was continually faithful in providing opportunities to go into the community, share scripture with the local people, encourage families, and mentor a local girl. Daily he reminded me of His grace towards me and His deep love for the nations, slowly crafting my heart to be more like His"

"Being in Uganda for the summer allowed me to see the Lord work in a totally new way. I was able to work alongside the CDP staff doing home and school visits while also meeting children and their families in their homes. This gave me the opportunity to see Social Work on another side of the world and I loved every minute of it. God used my trip to Uganda to make my soul well, and that is a blessing I will never forget!"

“This internship was such a life-changing experience- not only because of the opportunity to serve the Acholi people in northern Uganda, but also because I was constantly poured into by the missionaries. My faith and understanding were strengthened through the spreading and teaching of the Gospel. I truly fell in love with the people and the culture, and I cannot wait to return!”

"My summer at Abaana's Hope was one I will never stop learning from. I am a Social Work student at AU, and most of my time at AH was spent with the CDP staff. From long car rides, to sitting inside of otlums during home visits, and many other opportunities, I not only learned so much about the Lord and His faithfulness to all people, but I was able to learn things that will also benefit me in my future career. I couldn't encourage anyone more to take advantage of their summers in college, but especially to use them at AH."
